What types of Double Glazed Sash Windows are available at Green Double Glazing?

These types of Double Glazed Sash Windows only have one section which moves. For example; for most of these windows the bottom pushes up whilst the top is fixed in place. This is a much older design and is usually found in Victorian or Georgian styled homes or properties.

    • Double – Hung Double Glazed Sash Windows

This means that both of the windows slide up and down and both sections are able to open and close. This can be found in more recent properties around the UK. The classic variation of these double – hung Double Glazed Sash Windows are often found in six over six; two rows in each section which is then divided into three panes for each. There is then a total of six panes in the top section and the bottom section.

    • Horizontal sliding Double Glazed Sash Windows

These types of sash windows slide sideways within the window frames. Horizontal sliding windows are not as common as the other two and are often referred to as Yorkshire Windows, as the style is typical to that area.
